Yes. That Motoi Sakuraba was responsible for the soundtrack of this game.
That's the same dude who did the music for epic titles such as the Tales series, Star Ocean, and Valkyrie Profile. If the style of this music sounded familiar, that would be why.
It's just a shame the battles with the best BGMs don't last very long; just when the music really starts to get going, combat is already over. Also, for all the awesomeness, it's incredibly repetitive... we seem to have only around 3-4 tracks total. That makes for a depressing OST for all the wrong reasons.
